Iowa Basic Skills Testing 2017 - 2018

GRACE offers the Complete IOWA Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) for students in grades 3-12 each May at HSB, Inc. Testing dates for 2018 are Monday and Tuesday, May 21 and 22 from 9 am to 2 pm. The cost is $55 per student. This includes test administration and a complete analysis of your student's scores. Mr. Hazenberg, M. Ed is also available (by appointment) to work with you to examine and interpret the data. This will provide a clear understanding of your child's academic strengths and areas of possible concern.

The deadline for registration and payment is May 1, 2018. There is a limit to the number of students tested, so please sign up soon. (Use the form found at the bottom of this page.)

Standardized achievement testing can affirm your home schooling efforts. This objective evaluation can confirm your child's successful progress (tests are “norm” referenced which means they compare with other students at the same age level across the nation).

The IOWA Basics are a time-tested, well-respected assessment standard accepted by state, local and federal government agencies who may question your ability and choice to homeschool. It is a powerful tool in understanding your child's academic progress and a critical instrument in helping to plan for your child's continued academic growth. It is also a valuable addition to your academic record and transcript, assisting in high-school and college placement efforts.
