Are you smarter than your 5th grader on your home computer?

Here is an opportunity for GRACE students and other adult parents to receive basic instruction on computer usage and programs.  GRACE is offering five sessions throughout the coming school year on Tuesday evenings.  Each session runs for 6-weeks with our computer teacher, Mr. John Datema.  The schedule is show below for times and dates.  After that, you will find a description of each class.  The cost for each 6-week session is $85.00.  You may take as many of these classes as you would like.  These classes are not limited to GRACE families, so if you know of someone who may be interested, please pass this information along.  Class size is limited to 20 students.  You may registration form at the bottom of this page.  Deadlines for these classes will be one week prior to the start of class.

Microsoft Publisher I 2007

This course is designed for the person who is interested in desktop publishing.  Topics will include navigating the Publisher menu and toolbar setup, creating a basic publication, text formatting, working with art, pictures, objects, and arranging the layout of a publication.

Microsoft Publisher II 2007

This course is designed for the more experienced desktop publishing user; the student will work with multipage outputs, mail merge, special tools, and also learn about Web options within the software.

Microsoft Power Point I 2007

This course is designed for people who have not used PowerPoint and want to know the basics to be able to develop class or business presentations.  Topics include planning a presentation, using different presentation templates, creating slides, and technical aspects of making a presentation.

Microsoft PowerPoint II 2007

This course is designed for the person who has used PowerPoint and is interested in learning the more advanced features of this software.  Topics include incorporating graphics, animation, and sound, and importing objects from Word and Excel.

Microsoft Excel I 2007

This course is designed for the person who has not used Excel.  Topics include basic spreadsheet applications, worksheet creation, formulas, formatting, printing, and charting.

Microsoft Excel II 2007

This course is designed for the person who has a basic understanding of Excel and is interested in learning the more advanced features of this software.  Topics include using advanced formulas, setting up “what if” calculations, data analysis, databases, and presenting data using pivot tables.
