This class will be using an American history based writing curriculum based on the Institutes for Excellence in Writing. Building on what they have learned in the Beginning Writing class, students will study book reports, persuasive writing, and writing from prompts. During the second semester, we will be learning how to research, take notes, and organize a research paper based on a thesis statement. It is strongly suggested that Intermediate Writing students take the Beginning Writing course first, rather than the seminar, but it is not required. Those who have taken Beginning Writing should bring their resource notebook to the first day of class. A copy fee of $5 is included in the cost of the class.
