This class gives the student a large variety of hands-on experiences with many different materials and techniques; a well rounded approach to learning about the many facets of art.  Some subjects that may be covered are painting, drawing, advertising art, sculpture, and printmaking.  We will cover the principles of design (line, texture, focal point, proportion, negative and positive shapes, light/shadow patterns, harmony, balance, rhythm, etc.) and color (color wheel, primary, complimentary, mono-chromatic, etc.).  The students will also learn about 3-dimensional art by studying sculpture (clay, wire, found materials, papier-mâché, etc.).

Supplies Needed:

• Color pencils
• Erasers - white vinyl (magic rub)
• Pencils:  6B, HB, 2H, or 4H
• 14x17 sketchbook - 60# paper
