Constitution/Government - (Grades 9-12) Social Studies/Civics Credit

Teacher:  Kevin Looman

Time:  Friday 2:45 - 3:40

Class Cost:  $215

Book:  The Federalist Papers Edited by Clinton Rossiter

We will be studying the strengths and weaknesses of the Articles of the Confederation. We will also look at the Preamble of the Constitution of the United States as well as the main articles and amendments. Students will also learn of the men involved and the compromises they worked out. Time will be spent understanding our government and its role in our country.
Furthermore, we will show how the main principles of the Constitution were based on a biblical understanding of man. We will further contrast the original meaning with modern meanings to show how far we have strayed from the original intent of our Founding Fathers.

Please order the book as early to ensure having it for the first class.

*This class is available for Articulation Credit with Davenport University (see details at Articulation Credit page).
