Prerequisite:  Proficiency in Algebra I

Introduction to main topics in chemistry:  atoms and molecules, the periodic table, various chemical reactions, stoichiometry, heat organic compounds and nuclear chemistry.  The various topics will be illustrated with examples from modern life and technology.  The course includes laboratories, which illustrate the theory and introduce students to experimental analysis techniques, including the use of graphs.  Note:  this class meets for 1 hour on Tuesday and 1 hour on Friday.  You must attend both days.  You may order these books by calling ABeka at 1-877-223-5226 or check out their website at www.abeka.com.  GRACE does not order these books and the Home School Bookstore does not carry them.  It will be your responsibility to obtain these books from ABeka.
