We will focus on basic vocabulary, basic conversation, and memorizing “The Lord’s Prayer” in Spanish. The focus of this class will be more on vocabulary through songs, games, books, and other fun activities, rather than on grammar. A copy fee of $10 is added to the cost of this class.

This class would be a good fit for faster learners who are not yet ready for high school level or for those who have had some Spanish in the past. A copy fee of $10 is added to the cost of this class.

We will focus on basic grammar, vocabulary, and everyday situations covering the first eight chapters. Students will practice speaking Spanish through class activities and the reading of dialogues. Note: this class meets for 1 1/2 hours.

We will finish the Spanish I book and move into the Spanish II book (even if not planning to take Spanish III, this book will be a great resource for other Spanish studies). We will begin the year focusing on the preterit/past tense, commands, and everyday vocabulary. At the beginning of the Spanish II book, we will review much of the grammar of the first book focusing more on the details and will put an emphasis on the mastery of these skills through free writing and speaking exercises. Note: this class meets for 1 1/2 hours.

Teacher: Mrs. Joanna Thomasma Time: Friday 2:45-3:40 Class Cost: $205 Book: Spanish 2 for Christian Schools 2nd Edition BJU Press & Activity Manual Prerequisite: Spanish II and approval from teacher for readiness This course is a continuation of Spanish II and we will complete the Spanish II book. We will begin the year again focusing on the preterit/past tense and studying more intermediate grammar with a focus on the following verb tenses and moods: past imperfect, present perfect, pluscuamperfecto, future, conditional, future perfect tenses, and subjunctive mood.
