Students will learn the Greek alphabet, some vocabulary, and the basic principles of Greek grammar. Toward the end of the year, students will be able to read some passages of Scripture in the original language. We will also study the culture and some of the textual history of the New Testament. Greek is not only the original language of the New Testament; much of our Western culture and science derived from the older Greek civilization. Scientific terminology which is believed to be Latin often derived from Greek. Learning basic Greek vocabulary is therefore an important tool in understanding many words in English. A copy fee of $20 is included in the cost of the class. The + sign means that this particular class is a supplemental course to enhance your child's education. The = sign signifies a complete course.
