Art I
Grades K–1

In this class, we will explore a wide variety of fun themes, while incorporating the elements of art: line, texture, space, color, value, shape/form into our projects. Students will master their cutting skills and learn the essentials for beginning drawing and painting. Each year is different with new themes and lessons so that a child may take the class more than once.


Art II
Grades 2–4

In this class, we have a 2-year roration of Art Around the World and The Art of Famous Artists. Incorporated into the projects, students will learn and explore the six elements of art: line, texture, space, color, value, shape/form, along with learning beginning drawing skills and painting. 


Art III
Grades 3–5

In this class, lessons will be focused around art appreciation and understanding through the use of beautiful book illustrations and some of their illustrators. Each year will have a different selection of books and lessons, all of which will reinforce the key elements of art. Students will also explore 3-dimensional art, collage techniques, and learn an upper elementary level of drawing skills (simple perspective, blending and shading for depth, helpful tips for people, animals and landscapes). Students will turn in 1 to 2 sketches a month for homework to enhance creativity and self-expression.


Art IV
Grades 5–7

In this class students will work on creativity and self-expression as they learn about the different art styles and movements throughout art history. Students will learn and focus on technique and application of a wide variey of mediums as well as learn helpful tips and tricks to advance their skills in drawing. Students will turn in 1 to 2 sketches a month for homework to enhance creativity and self-ecpression. Each year is different with new art lessons so that a child may take the class more than once.
